New Zealand Agrichemical Trust (Growsafe) - Growing Efficiency from the Ground Up
The New Zealand Agrichemical Education Trust (Growsafe) is a not-for-profit charitable trust dedicated to promoting the safe, responsible, and effective use of agrichemicals across New Zealand.
Operating nationally, the Trust develops and delivers recognised training and certification programmes that help farmers, growers, contractors, and conservation workers meet industry and regulatory standards. The Trust certifies approximately 5,000 people each year, maintaining an active database of more than 28,000 certificate holders.
THE PROBLEM
The Trust needed a learning management system to replace its existing out-of-date LMS and disconnected data systems. Managing registrations, learner records, and certifications through spreadsheets and email caused duplication, errors, and delays. Course developers were restricted by a highly structured LMS, resulting in duplication of content, challenges to updates, and inefficient course structures to get around constraints.
Learners also had no central access to courses or certificates. To support thousands of users, the Trust required a centralised platform to streamline training, automate certification, and enable online access.

TopClass gave the Trust a central platform to deliver and manage training and certification online. The system automated enrolments, assessments, and certificate issuance, reducing manual administration while allowing learners to complete courses and access certificates through a single portal. Flexible course design tools also enable developers to build modular training and professional development content without duplicating material.
